Several residents in unincorporated West Menlo Park were asked to shelter in place Wednesday evening after a man fled Santa Clara County law enforcement around 5 p.m. on Dec. 3.
Officers from the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety attempted to pull over a car registered to 20-year-old Aidan Davis, who had a warrant for his arrest, Sunnyvale Capt. Dzanh K. Le told this news organization. Davis did not stop for officers and instead of pursuing, Sunnyvale Police Officers followed and coordinated with the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office.
Eventually, Davis fled on foot near Harrison Way in unincorporated West Menlo Park and the Menlo Park Police Department assisted. West Menlo Park is technically the jurisdiction of the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office but Menlo Park police officers assisted as they were closer.
Menlo Park police asked residents in the area to shelter in place while officers searched for Davis until he surrendered at the front or side of 10 Harrison Way. Residents only needed to shelter in place for approximately 10 minutes, Menlo Park Sgt. Paul Phu told this news organization.
Le said no one was injured.
Davis had a $600,000 warrant for his arrest related to weapons and sex charges, Phu said.
Since the department was mainly assisting Santa Clara County law enforcement, Phu said he had limited information.
Le said Davis is facing charges of felony evading and obstructing/delaying a peace officer, in addition to the two warrants from Alameda County.
This story was updated with additional information from the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.

Terrifying! I’m just glad everyone there is safe and this perpetrator has been caught.
