Priory and Sacred Heart Prep each won their West Bay Athletic League boys basketball contests Thursday to remain the top two teams in the league.
Priory topped visiting Pinewood 78-55 as Teyo Sobomehin recorded 25 points and Zach Zafran added 15 points.

Priory (9-1, 7-0) is in sole possession of first place, a game up on SHP. Priory travels to Crystal Springs Uplands on Wednesday. SHP takes on Half Moon Bay in a nonleague game Saturday before visiting Pinewood on Wednesday.
Sobomehin connected on five 3-pointers as Priory took control from the onset, building a double-digit advantage in the first quarter.
Ashton Axe, who hit a pair of 3-pointers, and Oliver Conn combined for another 15 points.
Sacred Heart Prep had some trouble with host The King’s Academy, winning 77-66 but not before TKA took a lead early in the fourth quarter.
The lead changed hands several times during the course of the evening before Aidan Braccia hit a jumper to give the Gators (8-4, 7-1) the lead for good at 58-56.
TKA led most of the third quarter but SHP zeroed in after Jake York found Harrison Carrington wide open under the net and Kevin Carney hit a 3-pointer.
Carrington finished with 29 points and Braccia added 24.
Pinewood (4-6, 2-6) visits Menlo on Saturday.
Baseball

Tommy Eisenstat homered twice, doubled twice and drove in six runs as Menlo-Atherton extended its winning streak to 11 games with a 9-2 victory over visiting Sequoia in Peninsula Athletic League Ocean Division play Thursday.
Rowen Barnes and Griffin Williams, who drove in five against the Ravens on Tuesday, combined on a nine-hitter. Barnes went the first five innings, allowing a run on five hits. He struck out five and walked one.
John Quinlan also doubled twice for the Bears (12-5, 8-0), who host Woodside on Saturday. Williams also had two hits.
M-A had its power stroke going early. Quinlan led off the first with a double and after one out, Eisenstat and Williams hit back-to-back doubles, each driving in a run.
In the third, Max Coupe followed a walk to Quinlan with a double and Eisenstat emptied the bases with his first home run. He added a two-run shot in the sixth.
In the SCVAL, Gunn scored five runs in the first two innings and never looked back in an 11-2 victory over visiting Saratoga on Thursday.
Lennon Seiders collected two hits and drove in three runs for the Titans (6-6, 5-4), who visit Lynbrook for a game Saturday. Quinton Sterling and Peter Oh each drove in two runs and Colin Wellwood had two hits.
Leadoff hitter Charlie Deggeller singled, walked three times, stole three bases and scored four runs.
Seiders pitched the first five innings, allowing two runs on five hits. Carson Leclerc struck out four in his two innings.
Girls water polo


Castilleja won its SCVAL De Anza Division rematch with visiting Gunn 7-5 on Thursday to move into a first-place tie with the Titans, who suffered their first loss of the season.
Sutchie Ofori-Nyako recorded 15 saves for Castilleja (9-1, 8-1) and Annika Burks led all scorers with three goals. Gabby Lewis added a pair.
In another match, Palo Alto topped Homestead 10-4 as goalie Andie Tezlaff had a big game.
Boys water polo
Palo Alto beat Homestead 19-9 and will host Harker on Saturday.
Boys soccer
Luke Maxwell scored three goals to help Sacred Heart Prep beat Crystal Springs 9-0 in a WBAL match Thursday.
Chase Dolinko and Carlos Deras each added a pair of goals for SHP (6-3), which travels to play Harker on Tuesday.
Tristan Mischke-Reeds scored a goal and added three assists, all in the first half.
Menlo beat host The King’s Academy 9-0 in another WBAL match Thursday. Tor Micaelian scored four times and assisted on another.
Ilan Listgarten, Emilio Veiten-Lamelin, Amari Makasini, Alexander Chen and Christian Corcoran also score for the Knights (9-0), who finish their regular season with a home match against Priory on Tuesday.
Girls soccer
Sacred Heart Prep downed visiting Mercy Burlingame 2-0 in a WBAL Foothill match Thursday.
Juliana Rosen scored once and recorded an assist for the Gators (5-3), who travel to play Notre Dame Belmont on Monday.
Molly Tinsley assisted on Rosen’s goal and Rosen assisted on Megan Tinsley’s goal.
Stella El-Fishawy and Colby Wilson each scored to lead Menlo past Notre Dame San Jose in another WBAL match Thursday. Julia Deffner recorded two assists while Francesca Prescott added an assist.
In the PAL, Menlo-Atherton and host Carlmont played to a 1-1 tie.
Boys golf

Menlo received big contributions from its seniors Thursday in a 187-225 victory over Crystal Springs Uplands at Baylands Golf Links.
The Knights beat their previous mark, set Monday, by 12 shots in relation to par, and posted their best score of the season.
Senior co-captain Troy Demmon played a pivotal role; his even-par 37, that included two birdies, was his lowest score this season.
The Knights celebrated seniors Dylan Bowers, Demmon, Oliver Diner, Zak Taube, Cole Taylor, and Jeremy Yun.
Yun, a senior who is set to play at Princeton, shot a 35 as did freshman brother Eric, for medalist honors.
Junior Marcus Ying continued his strong play with a 39, highlighted by a birdie on the par-5 third. Ying hit the difficult green in two shots and settled for an easy two-putt birdie.
Freshman Eric Yun posted three birdies against a lone bogey en route to a 2-under 35.
Boys tennis
Gunn swept host Fremont 7-0 in a SCVAL match Thursday.
The Titans were led by No. 1 singles Raghav Jangbahadur and No. 1 doubles Hugo Carlsson and Michael Wang.
Gunn finishes the week on the road at Cupertino on Friday.
Boys lacrosse
Palo Alto lost to host Los Gatos 8-0 in a SCVAL match Thursday.
