Menlo-Atherton, as is its M.O., did not take long in establishing control in a 56-29 victory over visiting Woodside on Friday to clinch the PAL South Division girls basketball title.

The Wildcats (7-11, 2-9) scored the game’s first two points before the Bears (22-1, 11-0) took over and never looked back, building a 34-20 halftime lead.

The four seniors, Ilana Baer, Megan Sparrow, Kyra Sheeper and Ofa Sili, started together and each of them scored in the first quarter to make it even more special in their final home game.

Woodside was led by senior Leandra Quijano who had 16 points and hit four 3-pointers.
