The Mix, a frozen yogurt “treatery” located at 3536 Alameda de las Pulgas in West Menlo Park, is closing Friday, Oct. 19. As a last day special, the store will serve medium yogurts in Mix mugs (while they last) as memorabilia.
Owners Jamie Schein and Susannah Albright opened their frozen yogurt shop in 2010. Both women were Menlo Park residents, active in local schools and the community. Ms. Albright moved to Florida in August.
An e-mail from the partners to The Almanac says: “Time has flown by and, as is typical in our fast-paced community, a lot has changed. … As we evaluated the options for our partnership going forward we received a business offer that we have decided to accept.” The women did not divulge information about the new business, but said it was not another yogurt shop.
In the June 2 , 2010, issue of The Almanac, the article “Frozen yogurt face-off” raised the question: “Is this town big enough for four yogurt stores?” The other three: Wildberry at 325 Sharon Park Drive, Miyo Yogurt at 842 Santa Cruz Ave., and Yogurt Stop at 401 El Camino Real.
Kathy Schrenk commented on the Almanac’s Facebook page: “Still four in MP”: Tutti Frutti, 888 Willow Road in Menlo Park.
You forgot Tutti Frutti on Willow! They’re also big supporters of Laurel School!!
Sad to learn this — The Mix was a family favorite and we certainly patronized the store quite a bit.

Where is west Menlo Park? Do you mean unincorperated Menlo Park? Or West as opposed to East Manlo Park?
Argh … the end of yet another business we loved. I will miss The Mix. Especially the Original Tart with Raspberry Puree, and Peanut Butter with Heath Bar. I also liked that the staff was all local high school students. Such a sad loss.
So sad to lose the best yogurt shop in Menlo Park. They had the most healthy delicious yogurt, great variety of flavors and a happy group of employees who worked there! Best of luck, you will be missed!
So sorry to see this great store close. My kids will miss going there after school. Always such a happy place to see friends and have a yummy snack. Good quality yogurt too.
Expensive yogurt . . tiny portions . . I’ll go to Costco!
Thanks everyone for your support and patronage of The Mix over the past three years. We have loved being part of this great community. We will be closing at the end of business this Friday the 19th.
Bummed! Only place I know of nearby that had Verve drip coffee. Good luck to the owners and employees.
