Andy Cooper of Menlo Park, now a freshman at Stanford, attained the rank of Eagle Scout last year as a member of Troop 109, which meets at Hillview Middle School in Menlo Park.
Andy, who joined the troop in 2002, earned 36 merit badges, served in various troop positions such as scribe and assistant patrol leader, and completed a major community service project: He supervised a crew to catalog 1,500 videos for the Menlo Park Library, which took more than 125 volunteer hours.
The son of Tom Cooper and Mary Hom, he was a member of the Menlo-Atherton High School Advanced Jazz Band that toured Europe last summer.
