Woodside Fire district’s free chipper program

Eligible residents within the Woodside Fire Protection District can have cut brush and woody vegetation chipped onsite for free. Clearing vegetation is an effective way to protect homes from wildfires, according to the WFPD. Vegetation can be cut and piled near the road for the crew to chip.

Households in Woodside, Portola Valley, Ladera, Skyline, Los Trancos, Vista Verde and Emerald Hills are able to receive services by registering in advance at chipperday.com. After registering online, residents will be notified of a pickup date.

Reservations allow the crew to plan routes efficiently and maintain a stronger database on total vegetation chipped, piles collected and residents who participated, according to a WFPD newsletter.

For more information about the chipper program, visit woodsidefire.org.
