Watch two local quidditch teams compete, experience live music, film screenings, crafts and panel discussions, and celebrate all things comics and sci-fi for free at the Menlo Park Library’s fourth annual Comic Con.
The event will be held at the Menlo Park Library, 800 Alma St., from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 22. Admission is free and attendees are encouraged to dress as their favorite comic, sci-fi, video game or fantasy characters.
Other scheduled activities include science experiments with “Peanuts” characters like Snoopy, courtesy of the Charles M. Schulz Museum; musical performances of songs by “Lord of the Rings” author J.R.R. Tolkien, performed by Margaret and Kristoph; and the band “Cartoon Violence,” a duo in costume that describes themselves as “musical crime fighters (performing) West Coast Nerd Rock.” The Golden Gate Garrison of the 501st Legion and The Dark Empire, two groups that create and wear “Star Wars” costumes, will be present.
