The festive song “Feliz Navidad” has become a ubiquitous holiday staple (maybe it’s stuck in your head at this very moment!). Locals have the chance to hear the creator of that classic live and in person when Jose Feliciano, who penned and recorded the hit, comes to the Fox Theatre for a concert this week.
Feliciano was born in Puerto Rico and grew up in New York City. Blind from birth, he began playing music as a child, becoming a master guitarist and going on to have a fruitful music career. “Feliz Navidad” was first released on Feliciano’s 1970 Christmas album. According to the Fox’s website, Feliciano’s concerts are “a joyous blend of memorable hits and story-telling, along with film clips from his storied career.”
Dec. 11, 7:30 p.m., Fox Theatre, 2221 Broadway St., Redwood City; $77-$93; foxrwc.showare.com.
