The Atherton Police Department is investigating whether there may be additional victims connected to a Menlo College student accused of raping a 12-year-old girl in his dorm room.
As first reported by The Almanac, Menlo College student Andres Aguilar, 19, has been charged with three felonies for allegedly raping a 12-year-old girl on the Atherton campus on May 5 after he allegedly gave her alcohol and marijuana.
A preliminary hearing in the case was originally scheduled for July 8 but has been postponed as police investigate a potential second victim.
“If you know this man, if you’ve had any negative interactions with him, or if you are a victim of rape by him, come forward,” the girl’s mother told KRON4 News.
San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe said anyone with information about the case should contact the Atherton Police Department at 650-688-6500.
San Mateo County prosecutors charged Aguilar with two counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a minor for both forcable rape and oral copulation, and one count of providing marijuana to a minor under 14. Following the alleged rape, Aguilar ordered Plan B emergency contraceptive through DoorDash and had it delivered to the college because he was concerned the girl would get pregnant, according to prosecutors.
The preliminary hearing has been rescheduled for Aug. 27 in San Mateo County Superior Court in Redwood City.
