Celebrate agricultural arts and sustainable living at the annual Hoes Down Harvest Festival at Full Belly Farm on Saturday, October 5, 2024.

This outdoor party is fabulous!

For over 33 years, Fully Belly Farm welcomes visitors to their 450-acre farm in northwestern Yolo County, north west of Sacramento. You may have enjoyed Full Belly’s delicious offerings in the past at the Palo Alto Farmers Market.

Hoes Down is a weekend-long festival and fundraiser focused on educating about the positive impacts of farming. Guests enjoy activities like pruning trees, milking a cow, making compost, and seasonal cooking. Eat local organic food and dance to bluegrass. You can even camp under the stars in a walnut orchard and wake up to a farm fresh breakfast (reservations required).

Workshops

There’s a workshop for everyone at Hoes Down. Come tour the farm, look for bugs, get wild, learn a new skill or practice an old one.

Sample workshops:

  • Building a small sustainable farm
  • Soil health
  • Beneficial insects
  • Growing and maintaining fruit trees
  • Raising chickens
  • Sheep shearing

A craft marketplace showcases farm-made products and an all-organic farmers’ market boasts the bounty of the season: fresh-picked almonds and walnuts, a huge variety of melons, tomatoes and, of course, pumpkins. Learn more about the Workshops and Demonstrations.

Volunteer

Hoes Down needs volunteers! Choose from over a hundred volunteer opportunities such as food service, set-up, clean-up, kids area help, and more. Work a four-hour shift in exchange for a free day pass to the festival. Meet other interesting volunteers. Email for more info: hoesdown@fullbellyfarm.com.
