Theodore Cague

Theodore “Ted” Cague, who grew up in Menlo Park as one of nine children, died March 15. He was 53.

Mr. Cague was born in Hartford, Connecticut, and moved to California when he was 3 years old. He attended St. Raymond School in Menlo Park and graduated from St. Francis High School in Mountain View.

He was a member of the Retail Clerk’s Union for 30 years and also worked in construction. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing, listening to music and spending time with his family, say family members.

He is survived by his mother, Mary, of Menlo Park; children Sara and Jesse; sisters Jane, Sue and Cecilia; and brothers Jim, John, Denis and Matthew. He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin, and brother Michael.

Services have been held. Arrangements were under the direction of Redwood Chapel, Redwood City.

Sam A. Lugonja

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 2, at Roller & Hapgood & Tinney funeral chapel, 980 Middlefield Road in Palo Alto, for Sam A. Lugonja, a former teacher and coach at Menlo-Atherton High School. Mr. Lugonja died March 10 at age 88. An obituary will appear in a future issue of the Almanac.

Eunice Philbrick

In the obituary for Eunice Edwina Philbrick in the March 22 issue of the Almanac, her surviving sister, Miriam Philbrick Harvey of Lake Oswego, Oregon, was incorrectly identified as Miriam Philbrick. Eunice Philbrick, who taught biology at Sequoia High School for many years, is also survived by her niece, Margaret Winters of Atherton, nephews David and James Harvey; and five great-nieces and nephews.
