The Rev. Michael Spillane will lead holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Menlo Park as the 16th rector in the church’s 123-year history.
He is set to preside over all four Sunday services on March 18, said a Trinity spokeswoman.
The Rev. Spillane, his wife, and their two children, have been living in Idaho, where he led a suburban Boise parish, the Church of Holy Nativity. Since September, Holy Trinity has been led by an interim rector, the Rev. Anne Jensen.

Daughter-in-law serves in Afghanistan
Chief Master Sgt. Roni Harlan, the daughter-in-law of Vivian Harlan of central Menlo Park, has redeployed to southwest Asia as part of the U. S. Air Force’s 379th Air Expeditionary Wing to support U. S. forces engaged in the war in Afghanistan.Ms. Harlan was most recently assigned to the Air Education and Training Command at Randolph Air Force Base in San Antonio, an Air Force spokesperson said. Her new unit has the task of assisting in the fueling and aerial refueling of U.S. and NATO aircraft.
Ms. Harlan is married and is a mission support group chief with 22 years of military service.
Officer commissioned
Dejha E. Harris, daughter of Bruce E. Harris, a resident of the North Fair Oaks neighborhood of Menlo Park, was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Signal Corps of the U.S. Army after graduating from Officer Candidate School at Fort Benning in Columbus, Georgia.Hiller Museum names new CEO
Jeffrey Bass is the new CEO of the Hiller Aviation Institute and Museum, according to announcement by the institute’s chairman Steve Hiller. Mr. Bass replaces Dan Putman.Mr. Bass, who grew up in San Jose, spent 18 years as director of planetarium and astronomy programs for the Cranbrook Institute of Science in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. He then became vice president of education, public programs and IMAX at the Milwaukee Public Museum. He has a private pilot’s license.
The Hiller Museum is located at the San Carlos Airport, 601 Skyway Road in San Carlos, near U.S. 101. It is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
