The Zonta Club of Silicon Valley, which includes members from Menlo Park and Woodside, recently presented a “Financial Fitness” education program at Stanford for 144 middle school girls.
They were attending Tech Trek, a science camp for girls at Stanford University hosted by the American Association of University Women.
The Zonta program covered banking, investments, budgeting and careers in finance, said Catherine Parlanti of Menlo Park, vice president of the club, whose members are business and professional executives.
The local club is part of Zonta International, whose goal is to “advance the status of women worldwide,” she said.
