A celebration of the life of Melvin B. Lane will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, at Stanford Memorial Church. A reception will follow at the Arrillaga Alumni Center on the Stanford campus.
Mr. Lane, who died July 28 at age 85 at his Atherton home, was a leading conservationist; co-owner of Lane Publishing Co., former publisher of Sunset magazine and books; and Stanford benefactor.
