Karin Lee Enstam and David Elliott Jaffe were married June 16 at the Valley Presbyterian Church in Portola Valley. Performing the inter-faith ceremony were the Rev. Bruce Coleman and Rabbi Yeshaia Charles Familant.
The bride is the daughter of Sandra and Dennis Enstam of Portola Valley. She received a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from U.C. San Diego in 1994 and a master’s degree and doctorate in anthropology from U.C. Davis. She is an assistant professor of anthropology at Sonoma State University.
The bridegroom is the son of Helga Olsen of Westlake Village and the late Syd Jaffe. He earned an associate of science degree in exotic animal training and management from Moorpark College in 1990. He received two bachelor’s degrees with majors in philosophy and religious studies from San Diego State University in 1999. He is an animal keeper in charge of hoof stock at the African savanna exhibit at the San Francisco Zoo.
Tami Schiern was matron of honor. The bridesmaids were Meri Storino, Amy Schilling and Cindi Sturtz-Sreetharan, who traveled from Japan, and Gwendolyn Enstam, who traveled from Scotland.
Sean Ferguson was best man. The groomsmen were Mychael McNeeley, Eric Kuniholm, John Goodman and Mitch Weingel. Christian Enstam and Charlie Marks were ushers. Mr. Marks and Wendy Rovira were readers.
Following a honeymoon in Spain, the couple is living in Mill Valley.
