Two scouts from Menlo Park Troop 206, Mitchell Calbert and John Mulhern, have earned the rank of Eagle Scout and been recognized in a Court of Honor at Trinity Church in Menlo Park.
Mitchell Calbert, 18, is the son of Michael and Barbara Calbert of Woodside. During his eight years with the troop, Michell has taken on many leadership rolls and earned 27 merit badges. He completed the National Youth Leadership Training and is a Brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow.
His Eagle project involved the restoration of Salamander Pond in Wunderlich Park The project involved more than 304 volunteer hours. A recent graduate of Woodside Priory, Mitchell has played violin since the fourth grade. He plans to pursue a degree in the music business.
John Mulhern, 18, is a graduate of Menlo-Atherton High School and son of Susan Smigelski and Will Mulhern of Menlo Park. He received his Eagle rank on March 11, 2014. after serving in several leadership positions and completing the National Youth Leadership Training. He earned 22 merit badges.
His Eagle project involved building a split rail fence enclosure and a new display case at Deer Hollow Farm in Rancho Antonio Park, Los Altos. His project involved more than 170 volunteer hours provided by nine adults and 14 scouts.
John plans to study computer science in college.
