Former Menlo School and Stanford basketball standout Eric Reveno, former Menlo-Atherton swimming great Tod Spieker and former Woodside track-and-field athlete Nicole Carroll will be among the six individuals who will be inducted into the Peninsula Sports Hall of Fame on April 25 at the San Mateo County History Museum.
Carroll went from Woodside to College of San Mateo and Fresno State, evolving into a world-class javelin thrower. She was a two-time American champion and a member of the 1996 U.S. Olympic team.
Reveno, a basketball state champion at Menlo School, later played at Stanford University and became the head coach at Portland University, earning WCC Coach of the Year honors. He’s currently an assistant coach at Georgia Tech University.
Spieker is a familiar name at Menlo-Atherton, where he helped the Bears reach national prominence in swimming. He later attended University of California at Los Angeles and was involved in masters’ age-group competition.
