Locals gathered at San Mateo County libraries on Monday morning, April 8, to catch a glimpse of the solar eclipse, which was partially visible in the Bay Area. Above, shadows from the eclipse are seen in the San Carlos Library’s rotunda.

The San Mateo County Libraries gave out over 15,000 eclipse glasses to community members, according to library system Communications Specialist Kailey Fisicaro in an email. The library also provided glasses to local schools.
