Losing our opportunity and democracy
Democrats are losing their opportunity to save our democracy. All the news about the Democratic party seems to be about the infighting and none of it about the looming threat of Project 2025 (the Republican Mein Kamph).
By the time the smoke clears on the Democratic candidate at the September Democratic Convention there will be precious little time left to inform the public about the looming Republican disaster and their Horrific Project 2025.
NOW is the time to act decisively and make use of the full four months we have left until the November election.

Continued ‘broadcast spraying’ in San Mateo County
Despite promises from the Board of Supervisors, Caltrans has continued its broadcast spraying of pesticides around La Honda and the Coastside — thus endangering our watersheds and health. There is no reason to continue doing this when there are viable alternatives — such as mowing. I would like to see real action from the BOS instead of lip-service.

Turns out the “Threat to Democracy” crowd is the actual threat to democracy.
I wrote a letter to the editor in response to Gennaday Sheyner’s article heaping praise for Kamala Harris from local Democrat politicians. It’s unlikely to be published but here is a portion of it that is relevant to ‘threat to democracy’ fear mongering.
It’s easy to see where The Almanac stands in the presidential race with the long article of endorsements by local democrat politicians for Kamala Harris. It would have been more enlightening to get the public’s views instead of party-line politicians with their party and self-interest in mind. Not one expressed any of the concerns that millions of Americans have about her policies and leadership acumen. Not to mention that she did not win the nomination by the democratic process. Not one American has voted for her, not in 2020 and not as a presidential nominee. DC democrats coronated her and will push her nomination through to make it official. How is that democratic?
