Update: The power has been restored as of 4:15 p.m., according to PG&E spokesperson Paul Moreno.
Nearly 3,500 customers were without power in Menlo Park, Atherton and North Fair Oaks After a substation breaker in Belle Haven tripped, according to an email update from the city of Menlo Park.Â
According to Paul Moreno, a PG&E spokesperson, the outage took place primarily in Menlo Park but also affected some customers in Atherton and East Palo Alto.
The outages were all located east of El Camino Real, and encompass neighborhoods such as Felton Gables, Lindenwood, The Willows and Belle Haven.Â
Moreno said that the cause of the outage was “electric equipment failure.”
“We have isolated the trouble spot and restored power to customers using adjacent circuits,” he said.
