The League of Women Voters is holding two events so the public can learn more about local candidates in several city council and school board races.
Candidate forum
A non-partisan candidate forum for the six candidates running for three open seats on the Menlo Park City Council is scheduled for Wednesday, September 20, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. in the Menlo Park council chambers at the Civic Center, between Laurel and Alma streets.The forum is hosted by the League of Women Voters of South San Mateo County and sponsored by the David D. Bohannon Organization.
The forum will be televised on local cable Channel 27.
‘Booze and Schmooze’
The public can meet candidates in an informal setting at a league-sponsored event called “Booze and Schmooze.” The event is Tuesday, September 26, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the British Bankers Club, El Camino Real at Santa Cruz Avenue in Menlo Park.Candidates for contested seats on the Menlo Park and East Palo Alto city councils and the Menlo Park City and Ravenswood school boards are being invited.
Tickets are $5 each and cover admission and one drink. Tables to display candidate materials are $20.
