Photo shows Jeffrey’s Hamburgers in San Mateo from Yelp.com.
Silver paint and stainless steel siding are changing the face of the former home to Ken’s House of Pancakes and 3 Fish restaurants in Menlo Park, the better to reflect the ambience of the next eatery set to open there later this month: Jeffrey’s Hamburgers.
Owner Serge Karanov says his new restaurant at 888 El Camino Real will be very much like the one he owns in San Mateo, only larger.
It will feature the same popular menu, specializing in hamburgers made with meat that’s ground on the premises, a range of traditional sandwiches including the BLT and club, Caesar salad and a specialty baby green salad that includes fruit and carmelized pecans, and onion rings and garlic fries.
For vegetarians and calorie-counters, there will be turkey and vegan burgers in addition to the salads.
The prices will also be the same, he says. “You can get a cheeseburger, fries and medium drink for under $8,” he assures.
Mr. Karanov says the decor will offer “a dineresque feel, a 1950s diner feel, but modernized, not clicheed.”

I am looking forward to the opening of this establishment. Good food, friendly service and great prices. Also Menlo Park is long overdue for something of this quality. Anything that breathes new life into a dying business community is a positive.
I like the Jeffrey’s in San Mateo, and I look forward to the opening of this one in Menlo Park.
