The public is invited to a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 8 a.m. Friday to celebrate the completion of the new, 65,000-square-foot Safeway store at 525 El Camino Real in Menlo Park.
The ceremony will include a $10,000 presentation from the Safeway Foundation to the Clara-Mateo Alliance Shelter in Menlo Park and music by the Menlo-Atherton High School band, said Safeway spokesperson Sherry Reckler.
Among those invited are Menlo Park Mayor Kelly Fergusson; council members John Boyle, Heyward Robinson and Richard Cline; City Manager Glenn Rojas; and Karl Schroeder, Safeway’s Northern California Division president.
Safeway will have in-store promotions and give-aways from Nov. 30 through Dec. 2, Ms. Reckler said.
