Electric-car enthusiasts, organic gardeners and green-building consultants are among the approximately 80 exhibitors expected to show up to talk at the sixth Woodside Green Fair.

The free event is open to the public and will be held Sunday, April 20, from noon to 4 p.m. at the Woodside Elementary School at 3195 Woodside Road.

The fair is free but tasting the local and sustainably grown food is not. Getting a taste requires having a ticket, with tickets being sold at Town Hall, 2955 Woodside Road near Whiskey Hill Road, through Friday, April 11. Prices are $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12.

The fair has a goal of selling 500 food tickets, said Oliver Bock, chair of the town’s Conservation & Environmental Health Committee.

“Obviously, we don’t want a lot of waste and we want to encourage people to pre-buy tickets so that we get a good sense of demand,” he said.

A list of exhibitors provided to The Almanac by Mr. Bock includes nine car-related exhibits, 15 related to food, seven on solar power, and three on energy audits. Tesla Motors, based in San Carlos, is listed, as is the Green Building Exchange from Redwood City and Petaluma’s Alvarado Street Bakery.

There will be entertainment, too, with music between noon and 1 p.m. by the Woodside Village Band and children’s balladeer and sing-along guitarist Tim Cain, according to a festival flier.

An art exhibit is planned for children’s art on the theme of global warming and there will be environmental awards given out and prize drawings for people who walk or bike to the event, the flier says.

Children may also enjoy the wild animals scheduled to appear at about 1:45 p.m. They include an African crested porcupine, a turkey vulture, an arctic fox, a two-toed sloth and a red-tailed hawk, says Debby Lesser of Wildlife Associates in Half Moon Bay.
