Rebuilding Together, a nonprofit organization that helps low-income homeowners improve their houses and neighborhoods by providing home-repair services free of charge, held several local events last weekend and have more planned.

On Saturday, April 19, Rebuilding Together Peninsula (RTP) and Watry Design, Inc., rebuilt a home for a disabled widow in Menlo Park. The team worked on painting, replacing the driveway, repairing cabinets, replacing plumbing, fixing the balcony and adding gutters and downspouts to the roof.

Saturday, April 26, is National Rebuilding Day and thousands of volunteers and corporate sponsors are expected to participate in local projects, including 14 sites in East Palo Alto, two in Palo Alto and seven in Menlo Park.
