Menlo Park police are looking for any information regarding a flurry of catalytic converter thefts.

Catalytic converters, located underneath the body of most vehicles, are intended to reduce the toxicity of engine fumes. They’re often made of valuable metals, such as platinum.

In the past seven months, nine converters have been reported stolen from vehicles — all of them Toyotas — parked in various Menlo Park locations, according to police.

Anyone with information is asked to call Sgt. Sharon Kaufman at 330-6343.
