Menlo College sophomore forward Amanda Torres was named Cal Pac Conference women’s soccer Offensive Player of the Week following a three-goal effort in an Oaks’ victory last weekend.

On the men’s side, senior defender Dominic Mitchell earned the conference’s Defensive Player of the Week for his sustained effort in the middle of the Menlo College defense throughout the season as much as for helping the Oaks to a 3-1 victory over Bethany last weekend.

Torres scored in the first two minutes of Menlo’s 4-0 win over Bethany. She helped put the game well out of reach in the second half when she netted two goals in the span of 1:14.

Torres is tied for the team lead in goals at seven with junior Jasmine Norouzi. Torres also has a pair of assists.

Menlo is 4-3-1 in the Cal Pac and 6-9-1 overall. The Oaks host William Jessup (6-0-1, 8-3-2) for their Senior Day on Saturday at 1 p.m.

Mitchell has excelled at center back, using his combination of size, speed and savvy to stymie Menlo’s opposition. The senior has added punch to the Oaks attack, scoring once while managing 19 shots and eight shots on goal.

Menlo is 5-4 in the Cal Pac and 5-10 overall heading into a match at Pacific Union (7-1-1, 7-2-1) on Wednesday at Pacific Union. The Oaks host William Jessup (5-3-1, 6-7-1) for their Senior Day on Saturday at 3 p.m.
