September marks the start of two city of Menlo Park-sponsored singing programs, the Menlo Park Chorus and the newly formed Menlo Park Children’s Chorus. Both choral ensembles are planning holiday concerts in December.
“Anyone can sing and you don’t have to read music,” says April McNeely, who directs both ensembles and teaches voice at Santa Clara University. “Our choruses are for everyone in the community.”
Now in its 11th year, the Menlo Park Chorus holds rehearsals from 7:15 to 9:45 p.m. each Tuesday in Burgess Recreation Center. The first session was held Sept. 7.
The new Menlo Park Children’s Chorus is for grades 1 through 6. Classes meet every Tuesday from 3:30 to 4:15 p.m. and are now under way.
Visit menlopark.org/registration or go to Burgess Recreation Center or Onetta Harris Community Center to register. For more information, call April McNeely at 408-314-7589.
