Burglars broke into two Canada Road residences in Woodside on Friday, March 2, and stole goods valued at nearly $25,000, according to a report from the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.

One incident involved the theft of three Apple laptop computers, two flat-screen TVs, cash in the form of loose change and an unregistered .22 caliber rifle, all of which was valued at $15,000, the report said.

In the second case, the burglar broke in through locked bedroom window, and the losses are estimated at $9,150. The report does not list the items stolen.

Investigations are under way.

  1. Put on more police surveillance in Woodside; have the owners get an alarm and fine security system put in….or a better one than they might have…..
    As to the first case, was the total $15,000-or 25,000?
    Does it surprise anyone that burglaries are ultimately increase when everyone speaks of wealth in the area?
    If it gets like Oakland, it could lower your property values and you would end up with no police protection.
    These are scary times for those who are poor and now those who are rich. The losses are covered by insurance, I suspect.
    A .22 caliber rifle is not a very good defense and permits for .22 caliber rifles vary from state to state.
