It took nearly seven years and two trials, but a Menlo Park man was found guilty of second-degree murder and sentenced to 22 years to life in prison on June 4.

Michael Edwards, 24, and Menlo Park residents Tramel Walker and Leavell Jordan, were each convicted in relation to the shooting death of 18-year-old Michael De Jesus at a party in San Jose in 2005. The three men were told to leave the party, but returned later and opened fire, according to court testimony. The first trial of Mr. Edwards ended with a hung jury, but prosecutors decided to re-try the case.
