The Menlo Park Police Department asks residents to comply with its “zero tolerance” policy on fireworks and gunshots on New Year’s Eve.
Recklessly firing a gun counts as a felony under state law, while setting off or possessing fireworks can rack up a misdemeanor, according to the police, who will be taking reports of such illegal activity by phone at 330-6300.
