A domestic violence suspect who escaped from a patrol car in North Fair Oaks on Thursday night was captured Saturday evening in Mountain View, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.
Juan Carlos Valencia, 27, was taken into custody around 5:14 p.m., Sheriff’s Deputy Rebecca Rosenblatt said.
Valencia was first arrested Thursday after people in the 2700 block of Devonshire Avenue reported a domestic violence assault in progress. Deputies found Valencia and a female victim on the sidewalk, and after conducting interviews, arrested Valencia for allegedly assaulting and injuring his girlfriend.
He was handcuffed and placed in the back seat of a patrol car, but escaped on foot. Deputies pursued on foot and searched the area, but were unable to find him.
He was booked into San Mateo County Jail on Saturday evening on a $135,000 warrant on suspicion of domestic violence, false imprisonment with violence, violation of a protective order, and terrorist threats.

ok, so how did he get out of the patrol car? Did the deputy fail to lock the doors ??
yet another screw up by the sheriff. The county voters need to kick out the present top two and maybe the dept. will become more professional and perhaps there might be even fewer massage parlors
The only person who needs to be fired is the deputy who lost his prisoner!!
I like massage parlors.
Big Nick – then you’ve something in common w/the sheriff & undersheriff.
DV calls are very unpredictable and the potential for danger is very high. This is certainly a case to be studied and learn from, lots of questions that I am sure will be answered.
