Twelve people drawn from social media companies, venture capital firms and law firms, among other sectors, have been chosen to serve on a new advisory board for InnVision Shelter Network, the nonprofit announced on March 6.
Board members include Julia Duncan of Google, Ryan McDougall of Zynga, and Oakland Raiders running back Jeremy Stewart. According to InnVision, the “NextGen Advisory Board” focus on increasing young Silicon Valley professionals’ awareness of homelessness, and look for creative approaches to providing services.
“It’s important to recognize and foster the commitment of the millennial generation to homelessness and nonprofit leadership,” said InnVision Shelter Network CEO Karae Lisle said in a press release. “There are new and innovative ideas about how to tackle poverty and we are thrilled to have a diverse group committed to using their skills and experience to further IVSN’s mission of ending homelessness.”
InnVision, headquartered at 181 Constitution Drive in Menlo Park, provides helps the homeless throughout Silicon Valley and the Peninsula find shelter and supportive services.
