Two master gardeners – Woodside residents Kathleen and Lisa Putnam – are coming to the Woodside Town Center on the evening of Friday, March 1, to discuss gardening on the Midpeninsula.
“Learn what is possible to grow and harvest in your mid-peninsula garden,” a flyer reads. The hour-long free talk, open to the public, begins at 7 p.m., and is preceded by light refreshments at 6:45 p.m. in Independence Hall at 2955 Woodside Road.
Lisa Putnam operates an organic farm in Woodside, and the sisters – both certified in master gardening by the University of California – have been teaching vegetable gardening and pruning techniques for six years. In their talk, they will explore sowing seeds, caring for seedlings, preparing the soil and harvesting techniques, as well as composting and soil health, the flyer says.
The evening is part of the First Friday series of monthly get-togethers put on by the Woodside Arts & Culture Committee.
