A pilot program to post crossing guards at two intersections near schools in Portola Valley began today (March 4) and will continue for two or three weeks, according to a statement from Town Hall.
The program, a partnership between the Portola Valley School District and the town, establishes morning crossing guards for the Woodside Priory School at Portola and Corte Madera roads, and afternoon guards for Corte Madera School at Alpine and Corte Madera roads, the town says.
This pilot program will be evaluated “to determine staffing logistics” for a long-term program at the same locations, the town says.
