Seven-digit San Mateo County emergency dispatch numbers not working

Seven-digit San Mateo County emergency dispatch phone lines went down Tuesday afternoon (Dec. 10), a sheriff’s spokesperson said.

Around 2 p.m., AT&T phone lines at the County Center in Redwood City were damaged during construction nearby. The phone lines were still down as of 5:45 p.m.

According to the county Sheriff’s Office, 911 calls are not affected, and anyone who needs to reach a dispatcher is being asked to call 911. Some county landlines are also affected.
