The story “Big spending in town budgets for storm damage, housing and wildfire mitigation,” which ran in the July 14 issue, incorrectly stated that Portola Valley had a $1.6 million budget deficit. That information was based on an outdated town memo. The town’s projected deficit is actually about $800,000. The budget for the current fiscal year includes $8 million general fund revenue and expenditures of $8.8 million.
