The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office will hold a checkpoint in Woodside Saturday to look for anyone driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The Sheriff’s Office said in a news release that the checkpoint will be held from 6 p.m. Saturday through 2 a.m. Sunday in the 2300 block of Woodside Road.
According to the law enforcement agency, the location was chosen based on data of impaired driving-related crashes.
Motorists were reminded that those charged with a first-time DUI face an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties, as well as a suspended license.
