New eateries in San Mateo County are the focus of this week’s newsletter.

Adrienne Mitchel has the story on Hurrica, a new restaurant in Redwood City with waterfront views, seasonal modern American fare and a floor-to-ceiling jellyfish tank. It’s a uniquely situated eatery where you can arrive by car, boat or kayak. Run by the same team behind San Francisco restaurants Waterbar, EPIC Steak and Mersea Restaurant and Bar, Hurrica is partnering with local farms and featuring dishes like kombu-wrapped lobster, shellfish chowder and pan-roasted black cod.

And Edwina Dueñas highlights five recently opened dining spots in northern San Mateo County, including a Coastside mobile kitchen slinging bodega-style breakfast sandwiches, a San Francisco deli with its first Peninsula outpost and more.
