Three players on the 1998 Alpine-West Menlo Little League All Star teams are making their mark in the Ivy League. The three are Spencer Lucian, Nathan Ford and Domenic Di Ricco.

Spencer Lucian from Princeton University (Sacred Heart Prep 2004) was the first-team All Ivy third baseman following a season in which he batted .425 to lead the team and the Ivy League in overall average.

He had 62 hits, including 14 doubles and four homers. Lucian drove in 34 runs, scored 31 and stole 10 bases.

Nathan Ford (Palo Alto 2005) the All Ivy Utility Player led Cornell in batting, hitting .410 on the season with a team-best 28 runs driven in. The junior also had 17 doubles, and two triples to go along with three home runs. Ford also drew 16 walks to just 15 strikeouts on the year. Ford has been the starting quarterback for Cornell the past two seasons.

Earning second-team All Ivy honors in the outfield was Cornell’s Domenic Di Ricco (Menlo-Atherton 2005) hitting .324 for the season with a team-best 31 runs scored from the leadoff spot and 23 walks while striking out only 11 times.

The junior had seven doubles, a triple, and one home run and also drove in 15 runs and stole a team-best eight bases.
