The MP Strikers under 9 boys class one soccer team swept the NorCal Premier championship round with a resounding 4-1 win on June 8 against the undefeated Solano Arsenal.
The Strikers advanced to the championship round by finishing the regular season with a 7-0 record and a 21 to 5 goal differential. Taking the top spot in Bay Area division league play, the Strikers moved on to the toughest bracket of competition, facing three of the highest ranked Northern California boys U9 teams.
In the final round of play, the Strikers were undefeated with a 8-0 win over Placer Gold, a 6-0 victory against the Bay Oaks Roadrunners, and the final win against Solano Arsenal to capture the top spot in Northern California U9 soccer.
Members of the championship team are Josh Morgan, Joe Foley, Connor Johnston, Jack Abukhovski, Leonardo Biral and Coach Alessandro Biral, Anthony San Juan, Daniel Hausen, Alistair Shaw, Mateo Elias, Rio Zelaya and Christian Wiseman, John Claude Marco, and assistant coach Molly Flanagan.
