Lutticken’s defeated Sharon Heights Shell to claim the Menlo Park Little League title on June 13.

Lutticken’s, champion of the Alpine/West Menlo Little League, won by a score of 6-4 against the champions of Menlo-Atherton Little League after a grand slam by Seth Hartranft.

Sharon Heights Shell then staged a comeback. With a run scored in the third, Sharon Heights Shell’s Jason Hwong hit a three-run home run to give his team the lead in the fourth inning.

Then in the fifth, Hartranft of Lutticken’s connected on a 1-2 count for the game-winning grand slam.

“It was great,” said John Lopez, Lutticken’s manager. “A couple of lead changes, a couple of home runs. It was a real exciting and well-played game.”
