It was 8-0 before St. Ignatius even took a shot and the Pinewood girls basketball team made sure it would never get any closer, utilizing a high-energy full court press to pull away from the Wildcats for a 72-39 victory in the opening round of the Central Coast Section Open Division at Gunn High on Friday.
Eastside Prep also won its opener, 57-50, over Sacred Heart Cathedral. At Christopher High in Gilroy, Menlo School played a solid game in a 58-50 loss to Presentation. Mitty beat St. Francis, 70-29, in the other quarterfinal. Read the story here.
