Palo Alto’s Madison Pineda shot a 2-under 70, placing second overall, and the Vikings’ girls’ golf team won the Santa Clara Valley Athletic League tournament Wednesday at Santa Teresa Golf Club to qualify for the Central Coast Section tournament on Tuesday at the Laguna Seca Golf Ranch in Monterey County.

“They are looking forward to competing against the other top teams in our section,” Palo Alto coach Doyle Knight said. “They know it will be tough and it can go either way, but are looking forward to the challenge.” Read the story here.
