By the time M-A starter George Zaharias left the game after five innings, the Bears were ahead of host Carlmont, 11-0.
At that moment, Bears pitchers had allowed exactly three runs in their past 61 innings. Carlmont then scored five runs, on a three-run and two-run home run, in the sixth.
Colin Galles threw a perfect seventh inning to start another streak for M-A, which extended its winning streak to nine games.

Football

Gunn senior Cory Hallada will have to get used to snow, Alpine skiing and the rally cry of “Ole” in the fall.
Hallada has signed to play football at St. Olaf College in Minnesota, where competitive sports include Alpine skiing and Nordic skiing.
The Oles last played football in the fall of 2019, finishing the year on a five-game losing streak after winning their first five.
Hallada was a two-way player at Gunn and it appears he’ll be on defense for St. Olaf, possibly a strong safety or linebacker.
