Alpine 9-10 all-stars open Section tournament with a win

The Alpine 9-10 all-star team continued its hot hitting, opening the Section 3 tournament with an 11-0 victory over Castro Valley on Saturday at Hillsborough’s Majors Field at the school district offices.

After outscoring opponents by a 51-2 margin, recording four shutouts, Alpine was at it again.

Alpine meets Canyon Creek at 10 a.m. Sunday in the winner’s bracket. Canyon Creek beat Niles-Centerville 21-0 to advance.
