The Castilleja girls volleyball team not only won the West Bay Athletic League Skyline Division title Thursday, the Gators likely clinched a spot in the upcoming Central Coast Section playoffs because of their non-league schedule, beating several teams from ‘A’ leagues.

If the Gators (22-4, 8-0) do have to participate in a WBAL playoff match, it will be against the fourth-place finisher in the Foothill Division, which is currently Mercy Burlingame, and the match would be played at Castilleja.

Castilleja clinched the title on its home court, beating The King’s Academy 25-11, 25-14, 25-19 as the four seniors each made a significant contribution to the win in their final regular-season home match.

Jordan Amos-Grosser, Riley Carolan, Hadley Nunn and Eveliena Pasmooij combined for 17 kills, 16 digs, and four service aces.

Pasmooij and freshman Claire Sun combined for 27 assists. Sun added seven kills, and four aces. Miraya Rehman pitched in with six kills.

Castilleja did not drop a set in WBAL play.

In a boys non-league water polo match Thursday, Andrews Mills scored four goals but Woodside lost to Santa Barbara 15-7.

The Wildcats (14-5) will finish second in the PAL Bay Division behind Menlo-Atherton.

In a PAL Ocean Division match, Priory dropped a 15-2 decision to San Mateo.

In girls tennis, Menlo School fell to Harker 5-2 and Sacred Heart Prep beat Castilleja 4-3 in WBAL Foothill Division play.

In the PAL Bay Division, Menlo-Atherton beat Woodside 6-1 to clinch the title.

In other action, Mountain View beat Gunn, 6-1, in a non-league match and St. Francis took a step closer to the WCAL title with a 6-1 win over Presentation.
