Jonah Blaydes-Greenberg scored with under four minutes to play and Menlo drew even with host Sequoia in a 2-2 non-league boys soccer match on Wednesday night.

Amari Makasani gave the Knights (1-1-1) an early lead with a goal into the left corner, assisted by Daniel Louie.

Sequoia (2-0-2) scored twice in the second half, taking the lead with under eight minutes to play.

The Ravens posted a pair of shutouts in their first two games and has now tied in two straight contests.

Sequoia goes on the road to play Santa Clara at 4 p.m. Saturday in a non-league affair. Menlo travels to play Carlmont at 3 p.m. Friday.

Girls basketball

Eastside Prep fell to San Benito 62-14 in the first round of the Warren Johnson Memorial Tip-Off Classic at Santa Clara High on Wednesday.

Sequoia (2-3) opened the tournament with a 45-21 victory over James Hill as the Ravens raced to an 11-0 lead in the first quarter.

Boys basketball

Sequoia ended a five-game losing streak with a 65-51 victory over host Piedmont Hills in a non-league match-up on Tuesday.

The Ravens (1-5) are scheduled to play Serra at 7:30 p.m. in San Mateo.

Girls soccer

Sequoia continued its strong start to the season, beating visiting Half Moon Bay 4-0 on Tuesday.

Sequoia (3-0), which has outscored its opponents by a 15-1 margin thus far, hosts Santa Clara in a non-league match at 4 p.m. Thursday.
