Sydney Adas scored 15 minutes into the second half, snapping a scoreless tie and helping host Sacred Heart Prep beat Crystal Springs Uplands in a non-league girls soccer match Thursday.
Taylor Davis and Molly Tinsley also scored for the Gators (3-4), who have won three of their past four matches.
Megan Sweeney, Tinsley and Adas each added an assist for SHP, which plays Burlingame in the Firebird Classic at Fremont High on Saturday, with a scheduled 1 p.m. kickoff.
St. Francis beat visiting Leland 3-1 in a non-league match, with goals from Charlotte Kohler, MJ Osborne and Kamryn Rosa.
The Lancers (4-0-1) meet West Catholic Athletic League rival St. Ignatius in the championship match of the Firebird Classic Gold Bracket on Saturday at Fremont High. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.
Boys soccer
Sacred Heart Prep (2-2) dropped a 1-0 decision to host Carlmont (3-1-1) in a non-league match on Thursday.
The Gators host Mater Dei on Thursday, Dec.30 at 1 p.m.
Girls basketball
Sacred Heart Prep fell to Riordan 54-22 in the first round of the Steve Geramoni Tournament on Thursday at Notre Dame Belmont.
The host Tigers edged Soquel 36-34 in another tournament opener.
