Menlo Park Police are warning motorists to avoid the area around Glenwood Avenue and the Caltrain railroad tracks due to congestion caused by a collision shortly after 4 p.m. today.

Emergency crews were dispatched to the crossing on a report of a collision involving a train. Multiple crews remained on the scene 30 minutes after the initial report. it was not immediately clear what the train might have collided with.

As of 4:30 p.m., Police were advising over email alerts that the area be difficult to traverse do to “traffic back ups and detours until further notice.”

Caltrain announced on X that it’s 635 northbound train was canceled at the Menlo Park station and that riders should expect delays in both directions through the peninsula.

Menlo Park Police said on X that the roadway was clear by 6:35 p.m.
